We have loved bringing enriching after-school opportunities to our NES students this fall and winter, and we are so grateful for the enthusiasm and support from our school community.
As we look ahead, we are currently seeking a volunteer to serve as our Enrichment Coordinator for Spring 2026 and beyond. We do have a small committee in place to help behind the scenes, but we are in need of a dedicated point person to help coordinate the program and keep things moving forward.
We want to be transparent with our community—without someone stepping into this role, we will not be able to offer a spring enrichment session.
If you are interested in learning more, considering the role, or would simply like to ask questions before committing, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to Enrichment@NESPTORI.org

Instructor: Stephanie Patton (NES parent and avid baker) & a weekly guest baker
Grades 1-2, Limit 10, $40
In this hands-on baking program, young learners explore measuring, mixing, shaping, and decorating while creating simple baked treats each week. Students practice counting scoops, using measuring tools, and following step-by-step directions, while also discovering how baking is like science as batter transforms as it cooks. Each class emphasizes kitchen safety, teamwork, and confidence-building — with plenty of fun (and tasty) learning along the way.
Instructor: Joyce Campbell, Joyce’s Jungle
Grades K-4, Limit 12, $40
Let's inspire children to explore the magic of gardening even during the colder months! Students engage in hands-on activities like planting seeds indoors, learning about winter plant care, and discovering how gardens rest and prepare for spring. Each session sparks curiosity and teamwork, nurturing a love for nature and teaching young gardeners that growth and discovery can happen all year round, even in winter.
Instructor: Ken Leonard, NHS Science Teacher
Grades 3-4, Limit 10, $40
Calling all artists, scientists, and builders! In this enrichment class we collaborate in teams to complete the objective: have fun! We will focus on redesigning household objects and board games, creating ping pong ball launchers to test angles, and using art to visualize and create patterns.
Instructor: Ruby Bigda, HS junior, local youth tennis coach and #1 player on her HS team
Grades 1-3, Limit 6, $40
Grab your racquet and get ready to play! This engaging, small-group tennis program introduces students to the fundamentals of tennis in a fun and supportive environment. Sessions will focus on building fundamental tennis skills—such as hand-eye coordination, basic strokes, movement, and sportsmanship—through age-appropriate games and activities.
NOTE: participants are required to bring their own racquet and wear shoes appropriate for the gym.
The THURSDAY section of this class is full!
Please add your student to the waitlist.
We are working with Play-Well for a second section of this class on MONDAYS. Email enrichment@nesptori.org and let us know if the MONDAY option works for you or if you want to stay on the THURSDAY waitlist.

Instructor: Stephanie Patton (NES parent and avid baker) & Lisa Wilson (NES Principal)
Grades 3-4, limit 10, $40
In this 4-week baking program, students develop real-world kitchen skills while working more independently as Junior Chefs. They’ll learn to read recipes, measure ingredients using fractions, portion dough evenly, and explore how mixing methods and ingredients affect baking results. Students will create both sweet and savory recipes, practice safe tool use, and discover the science behind heat, browning, and texture — finishing with a fun team recipe challenge that builds confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Instructor: Joyce Campbell, Joyce’s Jungle
Grades 3-4, limit 12, $40
Crazy Crafternoons invites students to dive into creative projects that focus on making specialty, one-of-a-kind items. Each session encourages self-expression and skill-building as students design and craft unique items. It’s a fun, collaborative space where creativity thrives and every participant leaves with a work of art that’s truly their own. Items may include the following-mugs, tote bags, t-shirts and book marks.
